《Life Comes to a Grinding Halt》 ZOU Biyu

STATEMENT

On the evening of Aug 12th, Two massive explosions in the port of Tianjin have devastated large areas of the city and made thousands of households homeless. The second explosion, generated seismic shock-waves with energy equivalent to 21 tonnes of TNT, have damaged cars and buildings, and killed more than 100 people.No light is on at night anymore, so that the buildings have become monuments. Take a close look at those hangovers in them, which were once the evidences of happiness, but now have collapsed along with people’s belief in life.

To some extend, the victims in this accident represented the local middle – class group, and most of whom were living in that way. When I walked into the living rooms, tea tables, sofas and TVs were placed in the same order. It is a custom, or even an order. However, the order became chaos under the external force. Are the victims striving to make their lives back to the former order? Or they have changed their definitions of life after this misfortune?
